RADIOHEAD HAVE POSTED a new song online this afternoon (May 3) entitled Burn The Witch, their first official release as a band since 2011. The official artwork for Burn The Witch.

A video for the new track, presumably set to feature on their as yet unannounced new album, can be watched below and sees the band fusing the puppetry style of ’60s UK kids’ TV shows Trumpton, Chigley and Camberwick Green with the plot of The Wicker Man.

The song itself is largely driven by a mix of staccato strings and frontman Thom Yorke’s bold, soaring vocals – his most direct performance in some time – before it begins to brood for the track’s dark conclusion.

Burn The Witch is set to be made available on all digital services from midnight tonight (May 4).

The debut of the song online follows a week or so of Radiohead slowly deleting their previous online presence from the web. All content from their existing social media channels was removed and the band’s official website, www.radiohead.com, was apparently wiped following a countdown.

A new album from the band is widely expected to be made available as a ‘surprise’ release in the next few days or weeks after an associate of the band recently said a record has been completed, although Radiohead have yet to confirm anything themselves.
