Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney AND The Stones To Play US Festival
…The Who, Neil Young and Rogers Waters are playing California’s Desert Trip too!
WHOEVER NEGOTIATED THE billing for California’s new Desert Trip festival must be a diplomat par excellence. In what amounts to a MOJO cover run come to life, the one-off festival, set to take place at the Empire Polo Club ground in Indio – which hosts the annual Coachella Festival – boasts the most legend-heavy line-up of any modern-day music event.
On the first night, Friday October 7, Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones tread the boards (not bad, huh?). Saturday features Neil Young and, um, Paul McCartney, before the three-day event is wrapped up on the Sunday with Roger Waters and The Who sharing the bill.
According to the organisers, each act will play a full set with the festival kicking off each day just after sunset, while they add it will be “the only time and place to see this incredible line-up.”
Now all they have to work out is who gets the best dressing room.
Tickets for the festival go sale next Monday (May 9), with a basic three-day pass priced at $399 (£274), while single-day admission costs $199 (£136).
