Unearthed songs from The Division Bell sessions will be released later this year.
UPDATE, JULY 7: A message posted on pinkfloyd.com has now confirmed that a new album is due later this year. “Pink Floyd can confirm that they are releasing a new album, The Endless River, in October 2014. It is an album of mainly ambient and instrumental music based on the 1993/4 Division Bell sessions which feature David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright. The album is produced by David Gilmour with Phil Manzanera, Youth and recording engineer Andy Jackson. Work is still in progress, but more details to come at the end of the summer.” ---
PINK FLOYD LOOK SET to release an album of unreleased material entitled The Endless River in October. Lyricist and author Polly Samson, who is also married to David Gilmour, tweeted the news on Saturday (July 5).

Long-serving Floyd backing vocalist Durga McBroom-Hudson subsequently announced via Facebook that her recent studio work with Gilmour was in fact part of The Endless River project (check out a photo here).
The songs on The Endless River began life during the sessions for Floyd’s last studio album, 1994’s The Division Bell, and were described by Nick Mason in his autobiography Inside Out as "ambient mood music" and sounding like The Orb. The sessions, dubbed ‘The Big Spliff’, were considered for release as a companion to The Division Bell, but the idea was shelved.
The Division Bell was reissued in 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition format last month.
