HERE’S THE FIRST official trailer for the long-gestating Jimi Hendrix biopic, All Is By My Side, starring André 3000 as the mercurial guitar hero. Written and directed by 12 Years A Slave scriptwriter John Ridley, the movie charts Hendrix's rise to stardom throughout 1966 and 1967. Imogen Poots plays Linda Keith – the woman responsible for launching Jimi’s career in London – while Haley Atwell appears as Hendrix’s long-term girlfriend Kathy Etchingham.
Sadly, the film won’t contain any Hendrix songs. Since 2012, the Hendrix Estate has refused to let the filmmakers use his music.
