PAUL McCARTNEY AND Johnny Depp head into the blues heartland of the American South in the video for New ballad Early Days. “The idea was inspired by the chance meeting in 1957 that would change Paul, John, George, and Ringo's lives forever,” explains director Vincent Haycock. “This film is a poetic homage to the legendary beginnings of Paul McCartney and John Lennon’s relationship.”

“Paul’s scene was incredibly fun to create,” says Haycock. “It was just him, some blues players and Johnny Depp jamming on set all day. Patti Smith also turned up on set and hung out, which made the crew very happy! One of my favourite days of filming ever.”

McCartney resumed his Out There tour on Saturday night (July 5) in Albany, New York having now recovered from the viral infection that caused him to cancel recent dates in Japan and South Korea.

He’ll play San Francisco’s Candlestick Park – the site of The Beatles’ final full gig — on August 14.
