The best Rolling Stones songs you hardly ever hear.
It’s been a summer of the Stones, and in Britain we’ve basked in a series of topnotch sets. And though they’ve inevitably erred on the side of the Greatest Hits, what with the Stones’ Grrr! collection on the shelves and Mick Jagger always with half an eye on the till, we’ve also been treated to the odd connoisseur’s classic. Before They Make Me Run was aired in Hyde Park – well, Keith has to have his run-out – and it was great to hear Factory Girl – albeit customised for the occasion – have its day in the sun at Glastonbury. While these songs can’t be termed obscure – they are Rolling Stones songs after all – they are on the road less travelled. And it’s in that spirit that we present our Stones Nuggets playlist.
