MOJO's 20 Best Christmas Songs

TOO COOL FOR YULE? Then you’re not welcome at MOJO’s Christmas Party, buddy, where enthusiasm for the year’s best holiday never dims and we’re always itching to put on our proprietorial Blue Christmas compilation CD, sometimes as early as October, when the Christmas puds go in the larder for a long, alcoholic steep. At MOJO’s end-of-year bash buttock-photocopying is eschewed in favour of frost-foiling frugging to the best Christmas songs of all time. But it’s not all seasonal-bash bangers, oh no. We also like our tinsel in a shade of blue, and many of our perennial picks are either sad (get your crying gear around Charles Brown’s Please Come Home For Christmas) or lewd (hello, Clarence Carter’s Back Door Santa).

But as ever with MOJO, you get the connoisseur cuts. Nothing wrong with Slade; it’s just, it’s always nice when your pals say, This is cool – what’s this?’ That, my friend, is the MOJO service in a nutshell.

And so, to our 20 favourite Christmas cuts. This Christmas, anyway…
