New Track From Jarvis Cocker Is A Housebound Rave
More encouraging signs from his JARV IS… project, previewing May 1 album.
JARVIS COCKER’S LATEST MUSICAL incarnation, JARV IS…, release a second preview track (some would call it a ‘single’) from their forthcoming album, Beyond The Pale, which emerges on May 1. A quizzical disco classic in the making, House Music All Night Long sees the former Pulp singer pondering the plight of his narrator, stuck indoors while their partner raves. Here’s what it sounds, and looks like…
JARV IS… – a group formed by Cocker to play at the Sigur Rós’s “Norður og Niður” festival in Iceland at the very end of 2017 – features Cocker (vocals, guitar, percussion), Serafina Steer (harp, keyboards, vocals), Emma Smith(violin, guitar vocals), Andrew McKinney (bass, vocals), Jason Buckle (synthesiser & electronic treatments) & Adam Betts (drums, percussion, vocals). Beyond The Pale incorporates live and studio recordings.
An exclusive, in-depth and career-spanning Jarvis Cocker interview can be read in the next issue of MOJO, in UK stores from March 17. JARV IS… tour the UK in May.
