ANTIPODEAN DEREK AND Clive fans with a collection of vintage drum machines and a thing for the sounds of the early nineties, Jagwar Ma have been praised to the skies by a certain N. Gallagher for this year's bracingly fresh Howlin album. Here Detroit-influenced electronicist Matthew Dear gets his hands on their debut single – first released in 2012, now available again on a Weatherall remix 12” and an iTunes remix bundle – and extracts the Beach Boys/girl group aspects of the original to accentuate its building electronic side. A time-suspended public psychedelic reel is the result. Get your ears round it below.
The group have just finished a UK tour but there’s still time to see them in Paris (November 1) and Amsterdam (2) before they head off to America later in the month.
