REGGAE FORCE ALBOROSIE may have been raised in Sicily, but as can be heard from past works like 2007’s stupendous Kingston Town, he’s Jamaican at heart. This new track, a righteous and rocking tribute to Black Uhuru and Sly and Robbie and a call for the oppressed to stay strong, is another piece of vintage-sounding, authentic reggae with strong ear-worming appeal. It’s the lead single from his new LP Sound The System, which features guest spots from The Abyssinians and Ky-mani Marley, and which was all written, played and produced by Alborosie himself in his Shengen Studio in Kingston – a space, heads will be intrigued to know, which boasts gear previously owned by King Tubby and Coxsone Dodd.
