Kate Rusby is the subject of MOJO’s annual MOJO Interview live at the Cambridge Folk Festival. The “audience with”-style event will be hosted by MOJO contributor Colin Irwin and will take place in the festival’s Club tent at 12 midday on Friday July 29. The singer-songwriter, author of 14 solo albums including three (count ‘em!) Christmas albums is one of UK folk music’s best and most consistent talents. She’s even featured in the Top 10 of the UK singles charts, although it took a duet with Boyzone’s Ronan Keating to crack it.

Those who attend Kate’s MOJO Interview or who visit MOJO’s stand over the weekend are also asked to take note of an acoustic guitar signed by nearly all the performers at last year’s festival, including Joan Baez, The Proclaimers, Wilko Johnson, Joan Armatrading and Nick Mulvey.

Money raised from the auction of the guitar will help the national charity Youth Music provide life-changing opportunities, through music, for children and young people in challenging circumstances. These include young people living with disability or mental health issues, toddlers with communication difficulties and children living in poverty or in care.

The charity invests in 350 projects around the country, supporting over 75,000 vulnerable children and young people annually through music-making activities. Laura Mvula and Rizzle Kicks emerged into the public eye after attending Youth Music projects in their teens.

This guitar is bound to become a collector’s item. For more information go to www.youthmusic.org.uk/guitar.
