Belle & Sebastian, the Scottish indie pop legends celebrating the 20th Anniversary of their 1996 inception (not to mention landmark albums Tigermilk and If You’re Feeling Sinister) will submit themselves to a live MOJO Interview on the Talking Shop stage at this August’s Green Man Festival. The festival headliners follow such luminaries as Mark E Smith, Green Gartside and Donovan into the prestigious MOJO Interview chair.

They join a fascinating smorgasbord of musical, literary and related topics broached on the Talking Shop stage over the weekend, including insights and provocations from über music writer Jon Savage, plus the return of Pete Paphides’ and Bob Stanley’s notorious Pop Quiz.

Richard King, author of UK indie music overview How Soon Is Now? and record shop memoir Original Rockers will be in evidence, while booze expert Pete Brown will match beers with the bands, pondering whether Battles would best accompany an astringent IPA or if James Blake is more a pint of mild.

Also on the cards: Jason Hazeley and Joel Morris, authors of The Ladybird Book Of The Hangover, Green Man’s resident twitcher Matt Sewell, Vic Galloway discussing his book Songs In The Key Of Fife, the intertwining stories of, among others, The Beta Band, KT Tunstall, the Fence Collective and James Yorkston, who also reads from his book Three Craws.

The Green Man Festival takes place in the Brecon Beacons, Wales, between August 18 and 21.
