Magazine & Bad Seeds' Barry Adamson Back With Solo Track
Hear Texas Crash, taken from the Nick Cave collaborator's Know Where To Run album, due out early next year.
HAVING PLAYED BASS in post-punk legends Magazine, composed music for filmmakers Derek Jarman, David Lynch and Oliver Stone, not to mention his on-off membership of Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, Barry Adamson is something of the outsider’s outsider. Though an in-demand collaborator, Adamson has also authored a host of varied solo albums – including the acclaimed Moss Side Story (1988) and the Mercury-nominated Soul Murder (1992) – and is now about to release his tenth, Know Where To Run, on February 19 next year.
You can listen to the track Texas Crash, exclusively via MOJO, below.
Available in the usual formats, a special edition of the album will also nod to Adamson's old employers as it will come with a special photobook of images he took while touring north America with The Bad Seeds.
“I'd point and shoot and listen for the music, the ‘movement through the different states’ becoming the glue between sound and image,” Adamson tells MOJO. “This began to form what is now a virtual mixtape of that experience. A photo-album, if you will.”
Adamson will play two UK shows in 2016, the first at Brighton’s Komedia on March 2, before heading to London’s Islington Assembly Hall the next day (3). Visit www.barryadamson.com for more information.
