Sample Some Of Bert Jansch's Moonshine
MOJO has a preview of the reissue of the Pentangle founder’s 1973 solo album.
BERT JANSCH'S SOLO album Moonshine is set to be reissued later this year and MOJO has a taste of the late folk guitarist’s refined hooch in the form of its title track. The Pentangle founder’s 1973 record will be released by Earth Recording on a limited edition picture disc LP on October 16, followed by a “Library Edition” on CD and vinyl at the start of December.
Moonshine, which includes performances from Tony Visconti, Mary Hopkin, Pentangle’s Danny Thompson and Fairport Convention’s Dave Mattacks among others, is the second of Jansch’s albums to be reissued in 2015, following Live At The 12 Bar earlier this month.
MOJO’s Sylvie Simmons dubbed the live 1995 concert “powerful and gentle, thoughtful and utterly riveting”. Get our latest issue (September 15 / #262), out now, for the full review.
