An Audience With Mark E Smith: Live At Green Man Festival

MARK E. SMITH JOINS MOJO in conversation on the Talking Shop stage at this year’s Green Man Festival. The live MOJO Interview strand has been a fixture at the Welsh festival of (still!) alternative music and culture and has featured the likes of Donovan, Billy Bragg and Green Gartside.

An audience with The Fall’s singular singer and intellect, which takes place on Saturday August 21, promises an unpredictable insight into his unique worldview. The Fall, in fine form by the evidence of their recent album, Sub-Lingual Tablet, also grace the festival in a musical capacity.

Completing the Literature line-up at this year’s Green Man is the following...

Pride and the Miner’s Strike - a panel discussion with Sian James MP, Dawn Foster and Dr. Emma Jackson. The discussion will follow Saturday’s screening of the movie Pride in the Cinedrome.

• Celebrating their long-awaited return to Green Man, Gruff Rhys and Guto Pryce from Super Furry Animals join Gwenno Saunders in conversation about the band’s illustrious career. Pete Fowler and Ric Rawlins discuss ‘Monsterism’ and the world of the group’s artwork.

Richard King discusses his new book, Original Rockers, and one of Wales’ most individual voices Owen Sheers reads excerpts from his new novel I Saw A Man. Also joining us for another round is the ever-popular Pop Quiz with Pete Paphides and Bob Stanley of Saint Etienne.

• Also joining the Talking Shop crew: Matt Sewell (Bird Spotting and Jotting), Croydon Till I Die (with Bob, Andy Miller and John Grindrod), Mick Houghton (The Biography Of Sandy Denny), Wyndham Wallace (The World Of Lee Hazlewood), Andy Miller (The Year Of Reading Dangerously), Steven Machat (Sacred Knowledge), Tom Cox, A.W. Wilde, Will Burns, Ghost Box DJs and Rob Chapman (Psychedelia And Other Colours).
