LATITUDE FESTIVAL RETURNS this summer with the likes of Noel Gallagher, Portishead and Alt-J topping a bill jam packed with arts and culture – and you can win tickets to the event with travel and boutique camping in a Podpad. Sky Arts, who will be covering the event with highlights, acoustic performances and backstage interviews, have teamed up with MOJO to give away a pair of tickets to the event – which takes place 16-19 July – plus the winner will also receive Sky TV for a year and a Wi-Fi enabled Sky+ HD box.

Sky Arts

Coverage of this summer’s best festivals is just one part of Sky Arts’ new music package as the channel is reborn on Tuesday, June 9. The new channel will feature the very best from some of the world’s most iconic stages and biggest artists – from brilliant live performances to music documentaries and interviews that get under the skin of some of music’s finest. Here are some highlights:

Guitar Star

Finally guitarists have a next big thing TV talent show of their own. Guitar Star, which launches on the new Sky Arts on June 9, is the nationwide search for a new guitar hero. With the auditions and mentoring having begun in April, Edith Bowman will host the competition, which covers a range of genres – rock, acoustic, classical and jazz – with the help of experts Nitin Sawhney, Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi, classical guitarist Helen Sanderson and Fun Lovin’ Criminals’ Huey Morgan. The winner will get to perform at Latitude Festival. Guitar Star starts on June 9, at 8pm (BST).

In Concert

Every weekend, Sky Arts’ In Concert strand will bring you some of the best live performances – catch Prince, Coldplay and Cream this weekend (on the current Sky Arts 1 – Sky channel 129) and the Led Zeppelin: Celebration Day concert followed by a Led Zeppelin documentary on the new Sky Arts (Sky 121, Virgin 281) on Sunday, June 14. Plus there are more music documentaries and interviews throughout the week – just to keep you going until the weekend. Check out the R.E.M. documentary on Thursday, June 4.

And there’s more… On demand
