David Bowie's Young Americans Set For Picture Disc
The single's 40th anniversary will be celebrated with new seven-inch vinyl release in February.
THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY of David Bowie’s Young Americans single release will be marked by a flash new seven-inch picture disc next year.
The latest release in his series of pictorial vinyl reissues will feature the 2007 Tony Visconti single edit of the ‘plastic soul’ harbinger and It’s Gonna Be Me (With Strings) on the flip side.
The AA-side, cut at 33 1/3 RPM, is an outtake from 1974 Sigma Sound sessions in 1974, only previously available on the 2007 special edition of Young Americans.
As for the pictures, the A-side image was taken by 1940s Hollywood photographer Tom Kelley, while the other side was shot by Steve Schapiro in 1974.
The picture disc will be released on February 23, head to www.davidbowie.com for more information.
