Isle Of Wight Festival Coming To A Radio/Device Near You
Absolute Radio brings you live music and interviews from the Specials, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kings Of Leon from this Friday.
IF YOU’RE MIFFED THAT you can’t make it to the Isle of Wight Festival this weekend, then be cheered by the news that our colleagues at Absolute Radio will once again be on-site broadcasting all the highlights. There will be live sets from Biffy Clyro, The Waterboys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Suede, Kings Of Leon and many more, and if that’s not enough, presenters Pete Donaldson and Sarah Champion will also be collaring MOJO-friendly types like The Specials, The Waterboys, Suede and The Strypes for exclusive interviews in Absolute’s special backstage tipi. “I love it at the Isle of Wight,” says Champion. “There are givens at every festival – mud, stinky porta-loos, someone passed out by noon – but also moments you can’t predict like turning around to see Debbie Harry hurtling towards you in a golf buggy! It’s definitely going to be another great year.”
“Everyone’s in it for better or worse,” adds Donaldson, “and we’re there giving people at home a taste of what it’s like. Anything can happen – in the past I’ve ended up playing headers and volleys with members of Bastille and interviewing Jake Bugg while standing in a footbath. Sarah and I can’t wait to get stuck in again.”
Absolute Radio will be at the Isle of Wight Festival from Friday June 13 to Sunday June 15. Go to www.absoluteradio.co.uk for details of how to listen on-air and on-demand.
