ACROSS RELEASES INCLUDING A Few Minutes In The Absolute Elsewhere, Suddenly, At Home & Other Rumours Of Misadventure and Love Letters, Hate Mail & The Haunted Self, psych-minded mysterios of Arrowe Hill – who covered Eclipse on MOJO's Return To The Dark Side Of The Moon Pink Floyd covers collection – have embraced varying flavours including spooky anglo-blues busking and cryptic acid rock. Now Around The Corner, the lead track from new album A Conspiracy Of Clocks, disconcertingly adopts a perky bossa nova sound in an Arthur Lee-like song of encroaching unease to coincide with the World Cup’s imminent supercharging of things Brazilian.

“Psychedelia is so much more than merely relying upon the clichéd sounds we all know,” muses mainman Adam Easterbrook (above, in silhouette), who adds that the LP title is concerned with how time runs out for everyone, “regardless of how clever or rich or beautiful you are. I suppose a more concise analogy would be a cricket match – life is a game of limited overs…”
