Producers at The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon pulled off an impressive coup when they transplanted the now-famous recording booth at Jack White’s Third Man headquarters in Nashville to the Fallon show’s New York studio. Neil Young, whose new album, A Letter Home was recorded entirely in White’s vintage Voice-O-Graph doohickey, cut a version of Willie Nelson’s Crazy live on the show – later to be enjoyed in 7" vinyl form by the excitable host and guests Jack White and comedian Louis CK.

Cool, huh?

Young released the 11-track album, including songs by Nelson, Tim Hardin, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Bert Jansch, Gordon Lightfoot and others, along with two aural "letters" to his late mother, on vinyl for Record Store Day. A box set edition comes out on May 27 containing both vinyl and CD copies of the album, seven vinyl singles, a DVD documentary about making the album and more.

And here’s the piece of vinyl they made live on Fallon...
