Kate Bush Announces 15 London Shows!
Extraordinary news from the gig-averse one-off. MOJO celebrates with a 15-song best-of Kate-fest.
The last time Kate Bush played live was on 1979’s Tour Of Life. It was a traumatic experience for her in a number of different ways. Stagefright and fear of flying conspired with the tragic death of 21-year-old lighting engineer Bill Duffield at the Poole Arts Centre to put her off performing live, seemingly for life. Now, against all odds, she has announced a 15-date run in London which starts this summer. Kate, who last year designed MOJO’s 20th anniversary issue cover, will play London’s Eventim Apolllo starting on August 26, continuing on 27, 29 and 30, and then on to September 2, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13, 16, 17 and 19.
Tickets are priced from £49 through to £135 and will go on sale on March 28 at 9.30am via www.ventim.co.uk, www.gigsandtours.com and www.ticketmaster.co.uk
In celebration of Kate’s return to the stage, MOJO has compiled this video playlist featuring 15 moments of celluloid magnificence and astounding Bush-ness for your viewing pleasure…
