AS AVID VIEWERS of Homes Under The Hammer or Grand Designs will be aware, there are often old Cold War nuclear bunkers for sale. Theme From Wrangler is a track for the winning bidders for such properties to play at their housewarming parties. Wrangler is a project involving Stephen Mallinder from Sheffield electronic enigmas Cabaret Voltaire, Phil Winter of Tunng, and Benge, producer at east London analogue cave Memetune and a member of John Foxx And The Maths. Theme From Wrangler is a mechanoid tension theme featuring a mysterious whispered narrative from Mal and, periodically, what sound like muted echoes of Da Ya Think I’m Sexy (but only if Rod Stewart’s convinced he’s being pursued by mind-robbing government spooks, and is hiding out in the abovementioned nuclear shelter).

Their debut album LA Spark is out in May.
