THE WEST COUNTRY'S PREMIER exponent of the Lowrey Heritage Organ, Rory More’s been bringing his brand of cinematic, smoky instrumental swing since the mid-’90s. He’s led Latin-leaning mystery men Les Hommes, collaborated with easy DJ team the Karminsky Experience and recorded Stereo Venus' fabbo Close To The Sun LP of library tunes, sung by Rumer. Though adept at jazzular bump and grind for lounge lizards – check this recorded at the Tate Modern tearoom - he now turns his hand to his new conceptual, imaginary soundtrack album Looking For Lazlo. A lush long player steeped in delicious nostalgia, with harps, strings and horns, this plush, back-to-the-’60s three minutes is precision-made for driving down to the Riviera in your two-seater with Catherine Deneuve – but is that a hint of melancholy, too? As for exactly who Lazlo is, More comments, "he's a character onto whom we may project the person we wished we could be. Or is it Victor Laszlo from Casablanca?"

Looking For Lazlo is out on Sudden Hunger on April 7. Guests include Gemma Ray, Anna Sheard and Cristina di Bernardo. See here for more info.
