Prince Fatty Vs. Mungo's Hi-Fi - Scrub A Dub Style (ft. Sugar Minott)

IN THE TRADITION of the sound system soundclash, Glasgow's Mungo's Hi-Fi (see above, dubbing up the Highlands) and London's Prince Fatty release a collaborative album next month. Within, each take on five of the other's reggae tracks and give them a future-retro remix, with vocalisings by Top Cat, Horseman, Hollie Cook and others. One of the cuts is this Prince Fatty re-version of Mungo's Scrub A Dub Style, recorded back in 2010 with the late, ever-verstile dancehall man Sugar Minott, known to Top Of The Pops viewers for his big hit version of Good Thing Going in 1981. Building on the digital dancehall foundations of the original mix, Prince Fatty employs a rocking live band, employs secret dub technology and gets his regular MC Horseman - a man known to disdain foul language - to praise Mungo's ability to make the people move (isn't he meant to be slaying them ruthlessly?). All proving that it is possible to make 'em like they used to.
