Nick Cave's Higgs Boson Blues Goes Nuclear

NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS have made a dramatic performance-based video for an all-new version of Higgs Boson Blues, the epic penultimate track of MOJO’s ninth-best album of 2013, Push The Sky Away. Beautifully shot by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, the song was recut live on location at London’s Three Mills Studios featuring a leaner, meaner version of the Bad Seeds’ touring line-up: Cave, Warren Ellis, Jim Sclavunos, Barry Adamson and Martyn Casey. If anything, the song’s slow-burning, spine-tingling mix of the existential and the picaresque acquires even greater power.

Also directed by Forsyth and Pollard, Nick Cave’s upcoming film 20,000 Days On Earth is set to make its debut next month at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, USA. The flick portrays a fictionalized 24 hours in the life of Cave, the title alluding to the singer’s estimate of his own lifespan.
