Pixies have announced that Paz Lenchantin (A Perfect Circle, ZWAN, The Entrance Band) will take on bass duties for the duration of their 2014 world tour. “We are really looking forward to playing with her on these dates,” said drummer David Lovering. “Working with different bass players is very new for the band, but we're having a great time doing it.” Kim Shattuck, ex of The Muffs and Pixies’ touring bassist for the latter half of 2013, left the band at the start of this month. “Super disappointed to learn that my time with the Pixies ended today,” Shattuck posted on Facebook. “Amazing experience. Looking forward to focusing my attention back on the Muffs and our upcoming new album. All the best to everyone.”

The news follows the departure of original bassist/vocalist Kim Deal who left the group earlier this year under mysterious circumstances.

A new animated video for Another Toe In The Ocean – a track taken from their four-song EP-1 – was also released today. Check it out below:

The band kick off 2014 with a 33-city North American tour starting on January 15 in Toronto, Canada.
